Who we are

Hitech Auto Mechanical is an independent mechanical workshop at 589-591 Gardeners Rd, Mascot NSW 2020. We service and repair every make and model — European, Japanese, Korean, American and Australian — from routine logbook servicing through to major engine work.

The workshop has grown into something of a Sydney institution. Customers travel to us from right across the city, and a good number keep coming back after moving suburbs, because the thing that is genuinely hard to find is not a mechanic — it is a mechanic who will tell you the truth about what your car needs.

How we work

Our approach is diagnosis first. A fault code identifies a system, not a failed component, and treating a code as a diagnosis is why so many people end up paying for parts that were never the problem. We test the component before we replace it. That takes longer up front and costs you considerably less overall.

We quote before we start, and if we find something else once the car is apart, we call you before doing anything about it. No surprises on the invoice.

Equipment and capability

We carry one of the largest ranges of computer diagnostic scanners in Sydney, including manufacturer-level tools rather than generic OBD-II readers. That distinction matters: a generic reader only sees emissions-related engine data, while manufacturer tools reach the transmission, ABS, airbag, body and comfort modules, and can perform the electronic service resets many modern vehicles require.

Your warranty is safe

Under Australian consumer law you are free to have a new vehicle serviced by any qualified workshop without affecting the manufacturer warranty, provided the correct schedule, parts and fluid specifications are followed. We service to the manufacturer schedule, use correct-specification parts and fluids, and stamp your logbook. A complete, properly stamped service history also protects the car's resale value.

Where we are

We are on Gardeners Road in Mascot, a short drive from the airport precinct and easy to reach from the inner south, the eastern suburbs and the inner west. We open at 7:30am Monday to Friday, which suits dropping the car off before work.
